RPCiege: Official Rules

Welcome to the RPCiege program (“RPCiege”) brought to you by the Stellar Development Foundation (“SDF”). RPCiege is a program where series (“Sieges”) of small coding puzzles (“Skirmishes") are released for players (“Participants”) to complete that teach them the fundamentals of Rust and Soroban smart contract development in a gamified, storied format. Participants may be eligible to receive awards (“Awards”) such as digital playing cards, lumens (“lumens” or “XLM”), and/or physical versions of digital playing cards, after each successfully completed Skirmish. Participation in RPCiege constitutes your full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules. By entering, participants agree that all decisions related to RPCiege made pursuant to these Official Rules are final and binding, and that all such decisions are at the sole discretion of SDF.

1. ELIGIBILITY

1.1 RPCiege is open to any natural person who:

  1. Is older in age than the higher of: (i) 18 years old, and (ii) the minimum age that is legally permitted to use and hold cryptocurrency and/or to participate in RPCiege in your local jurisdiction.
  2. Is not an individual on the U.S. Department of Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List or otherwise under sanction by OFAC (or an immediate family member - spouses, parent, child, sibling, grandparent, and “step” child - of such individual) or be employed by or affiliated with an entity sanctioned by OFAC;
  3. Is not a resident of any country, state, province or territory subject to comprehensive OFAC sanctions, including Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria or any Russian-controlled region of Ukraine;

1.2 All Participants must abide by the following:

  1. Must comply with local applicable laws and regulations in the participation in RPCiege and the usage of blockchain and cryptocurrency;
  2. Participants who are eligible to receive Awards may be required to complete identification and verification checks (“KYC”) and provide certain tax information prior to receiving any Awards as set out in s.4.1 below.

2. PARTICIPATION PROCESS

2.1 To participate in RPCiege Participants must:

  1. Register for RPCiege at https://rpciege.com/.
    1. Participants who wish to be eligible to receive Awards must connect a Stellar network wallet prior to completing any Skirmishes.
  2. Complete any Skirmish you choose. Note all Skirmishes are completed on the Soroban Futurenet and do not require the use of public network XLMs to complete.

2.2 Validation of each completed Skirmish is reviewed automatically by an algorithm that checks that the relevant steps of the Skirmish have been successfully completed. If the verification check fails you may reattempt the Skirmish.

3. AWARD ALLOCATION

3.1 Participants may be eligible to receive certain Awards after successful completion and verification of each Skirmish in a Siege. Each Siege may contain one or more Skirmishes. Awards may include the following for each Skirmish:

  1. RPCiege NFT Digital Cards:

    Participants may be eligible to receive RPCiege NFT Digital Cards for each completed and verified Skirmish.

    In order to receive the RPCiege NFT Digital Cards, the Participant must enter a valid Stellar network wallet address as part of the Skirmish.

  2. XLM:

    The first one hundred and five (105) Participants to complete and verify a Skirmish may be eligible to receive XLM. The amount of any XLM award shall be:

    Participant number 1: 500 XLM
    Participant number 2: 400 XLM
    Participant number 3: 300 XLM
    Participant number 4: 200 XLM
    Participant number 5: 100 XLM
    Participant number 6 - 105: 50 XLM

    Participant numbers will be determined by the order in which the Participant completed and verified the Skirmish such that the first person in time who completed and verified the Skirmish is deemed Participant number 1, and so forth.

    Participants must claim their RPCiege NFT Digital Cards as a first step in order to then be eligible to receive XLM Awards. Participants must complete and pass the Know Your Customer (KYC) identification and verification checks as well as complete and submit the appropriate tax forms as outlined in s.4.1 below.

    The KYC and tax forms can be found by logging into your https://fastcheapandoutofcontrol.com account and navigating to the Accounts page. Be sure to add your Stellar network wallet to wallets.

  3. Physical Playing Cards:

    Participants who have fifteen (15) or more RPCiege NFT Digital Cards may be eligible to claim a pack of Physical Playing Cards. Each pack of Physical Playing Cards contains ten (10) physical cards.

    Physical Playing Cards are awarded to Participants on a first-come first-serve basis, while supplies last. To claim a pack of Physical Playing Cards, the Participant must:

    1. First have successfully claimed fifteen (15) or more RPCiege NFT Digital Playing Cards and have those cards in their Stellar network wallet.
    2. Prove their ownership of their Stellar network wallet by filling in the required information on-screen in order to receive the unique Physical Playing Cards claim link on-screen.
    3. Claim the Physical Playing Card pack by completing and submitting the claim form.

3.2 For avoidance of doubt and as per s.3.1, a Participant is only eligible to receive a total of the stated amount of RPCiege NFT Digital Cards available plus one (1) XLM Award per Skirmish. Further, Participants who have fifteen (15) or more RPCiege NFT Digital Cards are only eligible to receive a total of one (1) pack of Physical Playing Cards, while supplies last.

3.3 Substitutions & Changes: SDF has the right to make an Award substitution of equivalent or greater value if necessary. SDF is under no obligation to make Awards if there are no successfully verified submissions or no eligible Participants for any Skirmish.

4. VERIFICATION AND AWARD DISTRIBUTION

4.1 In order to be eligible to receive an Award potential recipients may be required to complete the following two steps in advance of any Award being made available (“Required Forms”):

These tax forms will be used for accounting and tax reporting purposes.

4.3 Award Delivery: Awards will be delivered to eligible Participants within twenty eight (28) days after receipt and successful verification of the complete Required Forms. NFT and XLM Awards will be sent to the Stellar address associated with the Stellar network wallet connected to the Participants RPCiege profile. Failure to provide correct information on the Required Forms, or other correct information required for the delivery of an Award may result in delayed Award delivery, disqualification of the Participant or forfeiture of an Award.

4.4 Taxes: Recipients are responsible for reporting the receipt of an Award to relevant government departments or agencies where applicable and paying all applicable taxes in their jurisdiction of residence (federal, state/provincial/territorial and local). SDF RESERVES THE RIGHT TO WITHHOLD A PORTION OF THE AWARD AMOUNT TO COMPLY WITH THE TAX LAWS OF THE UNITED STATES OR OTHER SDF JURISDICTION, OR THOSE OF A RECIPIENTS JURISDICTION.

  3. The potential recipient does not meet the eligibility criteria and/or fails to complete the Required Forms by the deadline listed above;
  4. An Award is not deliverable to the Stellar network wallet connected to the RPCiege profile; or
  5. Any potential recipient may be disqualified for any other reason, including if their participation in RPCiege violates any applicable laws or regulations or infringes or violates any proprietary right of any party, including patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, right of privacy, right of publicity, or other rights.
